SPRAKERS, NY- March 14, 2014- With the overwhelming support and response shown for the 2014 Lou Lazzaro Memorial, scheduled for May 24th at Fonda Speedway, lap sponsorships will be on sale again this weekend at the annual Fonda Speedway Car Show held at the Rotterdam Square Mall.

The demand to purchase laps for this event was something that Race Pro Weekly senior editor Matt Noles did not expect.  “When Melissa [Lazzaro] and I put this show together four years ago, it took some time to sell all the laps for the modified feature,” stated Noles.  “We weren’t going to allow fans to double up on sponsoring laps this year but we have had such high demand for them we couldn’t say no.  It’s a really nice problem to have.”

Last weekend at the Gater Motorsports Exposition and Trade Show, all of the laps for the 44-lap, $4,444.44 to win modified race in Lou Lazzaro’s honor were sold raising the modified purse an additional $1,315.44.  “Richard Applebee and the rest of the DIRT Motorsports Hall of Fame and Classic Car Museum staff allowed us to set up shop in their booth at the Gater Show,” Noles stated.  “They were fantastic all weekend and truly went out of their way to help us increase the purse and make this event a memorable one.”

Though the support shown in Syracuse was astounding to say the least, the enthusiasm of the Fonda faithful is certainly something that couldn’t be overlooked.  “We couldn’t go to the Fonda car show without lap sponsorship to have on sale,” Noles continued.  “Louie is such a big part of Fonda’s rich heritage and history that we needed to make laps for this event available to the loyal fans of Lazzaro’s second home.”

Lap sponsorship for the 2014 Lou Lazzaro Memorial starts at $20.00 per lap minimum and will be available for purchase at the Fonda Speedway booth in the Rotterdam Square Mall this Saturday at the Fonda Speedway booth.

Title sponsorship and associate sponsorship opportunities are still available and information concerning these items will also be on hand at the car show this weekend.  “The response and excitement surrounding this event has been incredible,” Noles said.  “We’re really looking forward to May 24th.”

Other exciting incentives, contingency awards and bonuses for the 2014 Lou Lazzaro Memorial are in the planning stages and will be announced early next week.  General admission and pit gate prices will also be announced for this event in the coming days as well.

The Empire Super Sprints (ESS) will also be on the schedule card for this event along with the 602 Sportsman and Pro Stocks.
